The communication studies department received the National Communication Association’s 2013 Rex Mix Program of Excellence Award, which recognizes the best undergraduate communications studies program in the U.S.
Benjamin Rifkin, dean of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, received the American Council of Teachers of Russian’s Award for Distinguished Service to the Profession.
History Professor Qin Shao’s book, Shanghai Gone: Domicide and Defiance in a Chinese Megacity, received the Academic Excellence Award of the Chinese Historians in the United States.
Softball Head Coach Sally Miller captured her 500th career victory on April 18.
Junior computer engineering major Jim Rottinger took home the top prize at HackTCNJ in February, beating out 104 other student programmers from across the region in a competition that challenged entrants to turn their ideas into a workable app inside 24 hours. Rottinger’s creation allows viewers of twitch.tv, a live-streaming video game broadcasting network, to watch more than one channel at a time.
