Lion’s Tale: Mountain Lions

in the mid 1970s; more than three decades later, those friendships remain every bit as strong. They and several of their former Wolfe 2 floor mates have continued to get together regularly since graduation, though the clam bakes and parties of their early postgrad years have given way to day hikes and canoeing trips, which now often include older sons and friends. This photo was taken on the group’s most recent hike to the summit of Mt. Tammany in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. The banner (no one seems to remember who had it made) has accompanied the group for the past decade or so, and gets taken out whenever the moment seems right—such as this cold, windy February day in commemoration of the 15th consecutive year the “Wolfe 2 Boys” climbed Mt. Tammany.
