Alison Jaeger named CAANJ D-III Outstanding Female Athlete of the Year
Women’s lacrosse player Alison Jaeger ’11 was named the 2009–10 Division III Outstanding Female Athlete of the Year by the Collegiate Athletic Administrators of New Jersey (CAANJ).
Women’s lacrosse player Alison Jaeger ’11 was named the 2009–10 Division III Outstanding Female Athlete of the Year by the Collegiate Athletic Administrators of New Jersey (CAANJ).
Jaeger has received a long list of honors for her performance on the field this season as she was named the New Jersey Athletic Conference Attack Player of the Year and All-NJAC First Team, to go along with being named the ECAC Metro/South Offensive Player of the Year and womenslacrosse.com Attacker of the Year. She was tabbed a First Team All-American by womenslacrosse.com and was an ECAC Metro/South First Team selection as well.
In addition to all of those honors, Jaeger was recognized as the 2009–10 Division III Athlete of the Year for women’s lacrosse by the Collegiate Women Sports Awards presented by Honda. By receiving that honor she was also a candidate for the Division III Athlete of the Year.
As a junior, she had a huge season for the Lions setting a single-season record for goals as she ripped the nets for 86 tallies. Jaeger added 25 assists giving her 111 points on the year, leaving her one shy of another school record. By surpassing the 100-point plateau, she became the third player in program history to accomplish that feat. She topped the conference in goals and points and also ranked among the national leaders in those categories.
The Lions finished the season with a solid 16-4 record and advanced to the NCAA Tournament quarterfinals for the 26th straight season.
